Hello Amazing Symposium Attendees!
To start, thank you for registering to attend the 2025 SAVMA Symposium hosted at UC Davis! We are excited to share our veterinary community with you and are looking forward to your arrival. As we get closer to the event, we wanted to send a few reminders your way as you prepare for your trip to Davis, California!

 

What to Bring:
  • We highly suggest bringing the following items to ensure a smooth check-in process:
    • A government issued form of identification. This can include things such as:
      • Drivers license
      • Passport
      • ID Card
      • Military ID
    • Your registration confirmation. 
      • If you did not receive an email to your inbox with your registration confirmation, be sure to check your spam/junk folder. If you still cannot find a confirmation email, let us know and we will resend it.

What to Wear:
  • If you are signed up for any wet labs/day trips, we recommend packing the following items to ensure your safety during your activities:
    • Long pants
    • Closed toed shoes
    • Scrubs/Coveralls (if indicated)
    • Boots/Disinfectable shoes with good grip (if indicated)
  • If you are signed up for a wet lab or day trip, emails have been sent out with additional information regarding where/when to meet and what to wear. 
  • If you are attending the ‘Legen-Dairy’ Gala, please be aware that the theme is ‘western chic’. If you would like some fitspo for this event, check out our Gala lookbook on our instagram/website. 
    • Additionally, please ensure you are registered for the social events if you would like to attend them. Symposium attendees not registered for the social events will not be able to participate in them.
  • March in California can sometimes bring unpredictable weather. Be prepared for temperatures ranging from low 50’s to low 70’s (fahrenheit) with the chance of rain. Current weather tracking shows overcast days with highs in the 60’s on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
 
Travel:
  • For information on how to get to Davis as well as hotel accommodations, please review our travel tab on our website.
  • We will provide shuttle transportation to-from select hotels as well as to-from off-campus wet labs/day trips/social events. We will also have a shuttle service available between our exhibit hall and lecture/wet lab locations. Please see our Transportation Schedule on our website for more details.
  • Campus and Parking maps are available on our website under our Travel tab.
  • Davis is a very walkable/bikeable city, with E-Bikes and E-scooters scattered throughout. If you have any questions about transportation or how to navigate Davis, feel free to send us an email and review the transportation schedule on our website/app.
 
Registration:
  • Registration booths will be located in Gladys Valley Hall on the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine campus.
  • Registration booths will open for students to pick up their badges, shirts and tote bags from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, March 20th.
  • Registration booth hours on Friday, March 21st will be 7:00AM - 4:00PM
  • Registration booth hours on Saturday, March 22nd will be 7:00AM - 2:00PM
 
What to Expect:
  • Don’t forget some of our exciting offerings happening at the 2025 SAVMA Symposium. We have all kinds of activities you won’t want to miss including:
    • Keynote speeches from Dr. Sarah Boston (board certified surgeon and veterinary comedian) and Dr. Temple Grandin.
    • Wetlabs including Parasitology (with Dr. Grace VanHoy) and Companion Animal Euthanasia (with Dr. Kathleen Cooney).
    • Bovine Palpation Competition
    • Lectures from prominent people in industry, including tik-tok star Dr. Emily King
    • Zuku Trivia Night
    • Clinical Skills Relay Race
    • AND MORE! If you’re looking for something to do outside of the symposium offerings, see the Other Social Opportunities Tab on our website!
  • We will have a room to check your baggage if needed on Friday and Saturday of the symposium. If you need to utilize this service, stop by our Information Booth in the foyer of Gladys Valley Hall.
  • We are offering a Quiet Room for any attendees who may need a spot to step away to reset and recharge. These rooms are located in rooms 2011 and 2013 of Gladys Valley Hall.
